techno espresso

Techno and espresso?  Varum nicht as a techno lover from Berlin might say. Great Lakes Coffee Roasting partnered with Urban Bean Co to set up an espresso bar on the concourse and down in the v.i.p. lounge under the amphitheatre.  We acheived a zen-like balance by serving only zen espresso.  No decaf.  None needed for those trying to stay up for the after-parties which didn't begin until well after midnight.  For those who wanted just a cup of coffee we made sure to give them the stupid americano.  Hearts were exercised as we served up straight espresso and then went out to dance to the tecno, bass booming, waning and returning to punish all those in its path.  Mash up d.j. GirlTalk had an excellent set although he is from Pittsburg which wasn't the best zip code to be from as the Wings were simultaneously playing the Penguins for the Stanley Cup, literally a hundred feet away at Joe Louis Arena.  The Tigers were also playing and it seemed like Detroit was on top of the world.  The river was at our back and the skyscrapers loomed above Hart Plaza.   Sometimes Detroit is the most incredible place in the world.  What better way to contemplate that statement than with a thimbleful of zen.
